Monsignor Joseph was born and raised in Uganda, a small African country straddling the Equator and about the size of Oregon. He responded to the call to the priesthood early in life, studied Philosophy and Theology and was later ordained a priest on July 3, 1988 for the Archdiocese of Kampala.
After ordination, he served as a teacher at Kisubi Junior Seminary (High School) for five years. Then, he attended the University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom where he obtained BS and MA degrees in Physics and Education, as well as an MS degree in Information Technology, Management and Organizational Change. On return to Uganda, he served in various capacities; as teacher, Director of Vocations, lecturer at Uganda Martyrs University and Archdiocesan Chancellor.
He spent a year (2006) in North Carolina for an IT internship at the Computer Services Department, Catholic Diocese of Raleigh and at the same time serving as a Parochial Vicar at St Mary Mother of the Church, Garner and St Mary’s in Goldsboro. He was named Chaplain to His Holiness (Monsignor) in October 2012. Most recently, Msgr Joseph served as Campus Minister at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington from February 2013 till June 2015 when Bishop Michael Burbidge appointed him to North Carolina State University Catholic Campus ministry.
I am excited to be part of this wonderful ministry. Each one of us has unique gifts and talents to share with the world. By sharing those gifts we create a life of meaning and purpose. I believe that together we can open ourselves to the promptings of the Holy Spirit so that we may know God’s will and follow with generous hearts.
Msgr Joseph loves sports, building Christ-centered relationships, music and travelling. He is an ardent supporter of Manchester United FC.
